Visa Congratulates Its Inspiring 2019 Jump$tart Conference Innovative Educators
Since 2013, Visa has sponsored 42 educators from 22 states to attend the Jump$tart Coalition for Personal Financial Literacy’s annual National Educator Conference. Each year, Visa sponsors six educators to attend the conference. This year’s conference took place in Washington D.C. from November 1–3 and was attended by 335 educators from 47 states. The 2019 sponsorship recipients include: Nikhol Bentley of Gilbert Stuart Middle School in Providence, Rhode Island; Dawanna Jones of Memorial High School in Port Arthur, Texas; Greg Kaylor of Blairsville High School in Blairsville, Pennsylvania; Stephanie Mills of South Warren High School in Bowling Green, Kentucky; Jill Page of Glasgow High School in Glasgow, Montana; and Joey Running of West Albany High School in Albany, Oregon.
As an official sponsor of the conference, Visa distributed free financial literacy resources to educators, including student workbooks, games, apps and comics. Visa was also proud to host a breakout session at the event — Practical Money Skills in the Classroom — An Educator's Point of View. The session reinforced how Visa's award-winning Practical Money Skills program provides students, educators and others with culturally relevant, innovative and engaging resources, including comprehensive classroom curricula for students in Pre-K through college.
