Bridging the Gender Gap at Visa and Chicago Fed’s 2017 Summit
Visa and the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago co-hosted the 11th annual Financial Literacy Summit in April. Though some countries are successfully reaching women in efforts to close the gender gap, many women continue to fall behind in financial literacy. The discussion will offer panelists the opportunity to analyze why women display lower levels of financial education than men, and what can be done to empower their financial futures.
The panel was moderated by Carmen Rita Wong, Personal Finance Author and Speaker and co-creator and former host of CNBC's "On the Money"; Gigi Hyland, Executive Director of the National Credit Union Foundation; Dr. Tracey Wilen, Visiting Scholar of Stanford University Media X Program; Dr. Denise Raquel Dunning, Founder and Executive Director of Rise Up; Susan A. Schreter, Chief Executive Officer and Entrepreneurship Educator of Start on Purpose; and Dr. Anna Zelentsova, Strategic Coordinator of the Nationwide Financial Literacy Project run by the World Bank and the Ministry of Finance of Russia.
